The Happiness Corner

1 minute reading time

What is this?

What’s happiness all about?

To get started, here’s a fantastic read by Rubin Khoddam on what it means to be happy.

This rather excellent history of happiness is organised by thinker, from Buddha to Martin Seligman and Ed Diener. Essential reading, in our humble opinion.

We’re also big fans of this collection of learnings by the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley.

Nonetheless, perhaps you should stop trying to be happy – insights courtesy of best selling author Mark Manson.

Flow

Psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s famous investigations of “optimal experience” led to the coining of the term ‘flow’. Watch his TED talk here.

During flow, “people typically experience deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life.”

Er, yes please.

There’s a lot more MMS than LOL in most people’s lives (if it’s the other way round, your neighbours probably hate you).

This is about sharing those moments. Partly as a pushback against the widespread negativity in mainstream and social media, but largely because it feels good to 🙂

Find out what and how.
